Administrators were appointed to the Tenterden festival promoter on 27 July, weeks after its Heritage Live concerts were cancelled. How to get a refund.
Giles Cooper Entertainment Limited, the Tenterden company behind the Heritage Live open-air concert series, has gone into administration. Nicholas Simmonds and Chris Newell of Quantuma Advisory Limited were appointed administrators on 27 July, according to a notice published in The Gazette on 5 August.
The notice records the company’s registered office and trading address as 82 High Street, Tenterden, with the registered office in the process of moving to the administrators’ Watford office. The company trades as GCE Live, and its business is recorded as “support activities to performing arts”.
The promoter behind Heritage Live
Giles Cooper Entertainment was incorporated on 10 June 2016, according to Companies House. Its Heritage Live series staged summer concerts in the grounds of three country estates: Englefield in Berkshire, Audley End in Essex and Sandringham in Norfolk.
In July 2026 the company cancelled this summer’s festivals at all three estates. In a statement on its website, which thanked supporters over the past decade, it said “the cost-of-living crisis combined with general financial uncertainty, has resulted in several shows having far lower than average ticket sales”, and that a last-minute investment and equity package had fallen through. “As one of the few remaining British independent promoters, it’s become almost impossible to compete in what has become an increasingly saturated festival market,” the statement said.
This year’s cancelled shows had been due to feature artists including Eric Clapton, Christina Aguilera and Richard Ashcroft, as reported by NME.
What it means for you
If you hold tickets to a cancelled Heritage Live show: the company’s statement says tickets were sold through AXS Ticketing, Ticketmaster, See Tickets, Gigantic, Skiddle or Ticketline, and asks customers to locate and keep their transaction receipt and seek refunds from the agent they bought from. If a refund does not come through, the statement advises contacting your card issuer to dispute the charge: a Section 75 claim for credit card purchases over £100, or a chargeback for debit cards.
